Santoku with padauk and red beech handle

This santoku is from the batch of Bräkne-Hoby knives. The wrought iron is from an old horse-drawn cart that once traveled through the village. The wrought iron has then been forge-welded with nickel and 26C3 for the edge steel. The hardness of the edge steel is approximately 64 HRC. The knife has also been etched in ferric chloride to bring out the different contrasts.

The blade length is approximately 160 mm, and the total length is approximately 300 mm. The height from spine to heel is approximately 40 mm, and the knife weighs approximately 115 grams. The handle is made of padauk and red beech.

This knife is not stainless but made of carbon steel, so remember to hand wash and thoroughly dry the knife after each use.
