Gyuto with red beech and padauk handle

This gyuto is from the batch of Bräkne-Hoby knives. The bloom iron is from an old horse-drawn cart that rolled through the village. The bloom iron was then forge-welded with nickel and 26C3 for the edge steel. The knife has also been etched in ferric chloride to bring out the different contrasts. The handle is made of red beech and padauk.

The blade length is approximately 210 mm and the total length is approximately 360 mm. The height from spine to heel is approximately 54 mm, and the knife weighs 172 grams.

This knife is not stainless but made of carbon steel, so remember to hand wash and dry the knife thoroughly after each use.
