Bunka with handle made of American walnut and flame birch

This bunka is from the batch of Bräkne-Hoby knives. The well iron is from an old horse-drawn carriage that rolled through the village. The well iron has then been forged with nickel and 26C3 as edge steel. The hardness of the edge steel is approximately 64 HRC. The knife is also etched in ferric chloride, this to bring out the different contrasts.

The blade length is approximately 160 mm and the total length is approximately 300 mm. Height from back to heel is approximately 45 mm and the knife weighs approximately 115 grams. The handle is made of American walnut and flaming birch.

This knife is not stainless but made of carbon steel, so remember to hand wash and dry the knife thoroughly after each use.
