Bread knife with smoked oak handle
This bread knife is from the batch of Bräkne-Hoby knives. The blade is from an old horse-drawn carriage that rolled through the village. The blade has then been forged with nickel and 26C3 as edge steel. The hardness of the edge steel is approximately 64 HRC. The knife is also etched in ferric chloride, this to bring out the different contrasts.
The blade length is approximately 275 mm and the total length is approximately 440 mm. Height from back to heel is approximately 35 mm and the knife weighs approximately 170 grams. The handle is made of smoked oak.
This knife is not stainless steel but made of carbon steel, so remember to hand wash and dry the knife thoroughly after each use.
